Geez, I've got such a headache. Anyone know how long it's been? Or where the hell the chibi brat in a straw hat is now?

[Smoker's outside of the pokecenter to get a smoke, and all his pokemon are practically clinging on him. It has been since about Christmas after all. Even his gyarados is practically on top of him, though he seems pretty nonplussed about it.]

You can't be too old. The biggest alcoholic in my world was 72 and still drinking strong.

Because everyone has to become an adult one day, right? Uu-, Mama told Maria to act less like a little kid and more like an adult, so Maria wanted to try and make Mama happy..

Of course..! Uu-, Maria's Pokémon are her friends, of course Maria would take good care of them!

Right. Being an adult is being responsible. Taking care of your pokemon is a very responsible thing to do. So is being able to help take care of yourself in some way or another.

Some "adults" never succeed in that, but then people don't consider them adults until they do.

... Uu-, Maria thinks she gets it a little.. As long as Maria takes care of her Pokémon friends re-ally well, Mama will be proud of Maria for sure if she'd come here and see, right?

Definitely. And it's an adult thing to do. Sometimes being an adult is just doing things because it's the right thing to do.
